HAPPY 2nd BIRTHDAY, BABY GIRL!! Wow, another year has flown by! I wish there was a way to make time slow down a bit. I can’t believe that 2 years ago today, I was in the hospital getting ready to meet you! You have been a ray of sunshine in our lives, and we have really enjoyed watching you grow and change over the past year. You are so full of life and energy and we love every one of your many personalities! Never a dull moment! It’s amazing how much you have changed in the past year and we can’t wait to see how much you’ll change in the year to come! We love you so much!!!

On September 17, 2010 Grandma and Grandpa picked you up to come to our house for the afternoon. Grandpa wanted to take you on your first combine ride. We took Grandpa’s pickup to the combine. We sat in the back and you sat on my leg. We were safe because we were on gravel roads and Grandma drove really slow. We rode in a big John Deere combine. It made a lot of noise and was really dusty. I am sorry I bumped your head on the door when we got in the cab but you were a big girl and didn’t cry. We went back to the house after the ride and you played on the front porch and showed your baby doll the combine coming through the field. When the semi truck came we went out and watched the corn go in the truck. Then you got to sit in the cab with Kelton. I was so happy that you came out and did all these things with Grandma and Grandpa. You were such a good girl. I think that you wore yourself out because you fell asleep in your car seat when we were going back to your house.

Isla, we had a GREAT time with you and Kelton, Sunday July 4th. You looked so cute in your red, white and blue sundress. Grandpa sure likes you being his little girl and it makes me smile every time you reach for Grandpa. You are definitely Grandpa’s little girl.
We are very proud of you for being a big girl and learning to use the potty. You are growing up to be a sweet and precious granddaughter.

It has been a month since we got back from vacations with you. You were a good little traveler. We know that you won’t remember much of our trip because you are so young, but hopefully when you get older you will get to go back to the Northwest and see all the beautiful scenery (ocean and cliffs, mountains and volcanoes, waterfalls, and the huge redwood trees).

What a gorgeous little face! I just wanted to let you know that my daughter is expecting a baby girl the end of April and her name is Isla Rose. I say ’is’ because the decision was made years ago. My daughter has loved this name since she was a teenager.
